Gameweek 2 Report : The Controversial Day

MeGi FC 1-0 TRW

Two words, total domination! After their shock win against Baihulk last week, TRW fell short this time against MeGi FC, who had complete control of the game from the kick off. MeGi FC came close to score early in the game, just Baihaqi's effort to be denied by the outside of the post. The goal came in the middle of the first half through Syukri with a glancing header after a great cross by Fadhli. The game should be easily ended up with 3 or 4 goals but thanks to TRW's Gk, Farhan who had been superb with a series of great saves during the game.

Harimau ACE 1-0 Baihulk

This game should be the one that grab the headline of the week. The game ended up 1-0 thanks to Nafis' controversial goal, with supposed to be miles offside but never ruled out by the linesman. Baihulks seems to have more ball possession with both teams shared a fair amount of tackles along the course of the match. Baihulk's golden chance to equalise came in the last minute of the game where a near post corner created a chaos in front of the goal before efficiently handled by Faris to prevent the equaliser.

Tornado FC 1-1 Boys Over Flowers

BOF kick off the game with real spirits from last game's loss to HACE. They started well, gain control of possession and Tornado's players seems cannot coop with them early on. The game also filled with controversy after Nabil's goal has been ruled out for offside BOF attacks presented with a goal by Amirul after an excellent interplay with the midfield players. Tornado came out strong in the 2nd half and Nabil got his goal and this time, it was not offside. After that, Tornado had the control of the game and almost got another goal, but Hassan's shot only rattled the bar after BOF's Gk mistake.

This is how the table looks like after two games. HACE with the 100% record to top the table with 2 points off the 2nd placed team, MeGi FC. At the bottom of the table, Baihulk with 2 loses from 2 games.

Goals (1 Goal)
Izman Shah (HACE)
Nafis Nazlan (HACE)
Amir Lukman (TRW)
Syukri (MeGi)

Gameweek 1 Report : MeGi FC : The Sweet Escape

Gameweek 1 : Report

Harimau ACE 1-0 Silent Masculine

Both teams has been shy upfront, mostly crowded in the central area of the pitch with only Izman Shah's first goal of the league give the winning momentum to Harimau ACE which also the winner of the previous Alexandria Champions League. The swift counter attack by Harimau ACE which is started by Nafis ended up with the low cross for Izman Shah with the finish.

Tornado FC 0-0 MeGi FC

The match has been the highlight of the day with MeGi FC faces the strong line up by Tornado FC with vast majority of the teams are the Nigerians. Tornado FC had complete control of the game with just lack of finishing put MeGi FC survives the attacking threat from their pacey forwards. MeGi's Syukri also missed the golden opportunity to put his team upfront in the 2nd half

Baihulk 0-1 TRW

If the Tornado FC filled by Nigerians, TRW, which also known as The Red Warriors, filled by Kelantanese. Both teams had a fair ball possession, attacking each other with a real threat. The highlight of the match will be the missed penalty from Baihulk. The goal came early in the 2nd half from Amir Lukman with an excellent fake before slot it home with a tidy finish. Sidi Luqman also missed the great chance to put TRW 2-0 ahead after his weak effort with only the goalkeeper to beat.

They All Count : 101 ways to score a goal (or not)

"Yyyyeah-no, it's always nice to score", players tell us, even if it's the three points that matter. After hundred of years years the game has evolved, take a look on how many different ways have been developed of trying to get on the scoresheet? Well, here's 101 of them...

  1. Fired - A powerful shot. Its height or range is not important, but its trajectory ought to be straight. Often a way of breaking the deadlock, as the goalscorer fires his team into the lead.
  2. Drilled - Just as forceful, but this time characterised by its relative lack of height - they are daisy-cutters with oomph. Drilled shots often find the corner, but this is not mandatory.
  3. Rifled - A more refined variation of drilled, and part of an ongoing firearms theme, with less violent but more authoritative connotations. The verb to rifle is almost entirely exclusive to ball games.
  4. Thundered - Suitable for use with shots that either go in or strike against the woodwork.
  5. Hammered - So descriptive a term for powerful long-range efforts that it lends itself to players' nicknames, such as German midfielders Jorg "The Hammer" Albertz and Thomas "Der Hammer" Hitzlsperger, neither of whom needed a second invitation to shoot.
  6. Powered - A less popular verb, lacking the sheer imagery of the aforementioned blockbusters.
  7. Slammed - Often aided aesthetically by the ball being hit into the ground on its way into the net. Suitable for powerful goalscoring from close- to mid-range.
  8. Rammed - The slightly vulgar twin brother of slammed.
  9. Blasted - Surprisingly uncommon, perhaps with its disregard for technique, but undeniably powerful. Other explosive-themed finishes are the...
  10. Exocet or the...
  11. Howitzer
  12. Driven - Sacrificing some power for unerring direction, drives are distinctly long-range affairs (estimating the approximate yardage is an optional extra.)
  13. Arrowed - Long range and top corner only.
  14. Thumped - Like hammered, this act of punishment can also be applied to an entire scoreline, should the margin of victory be sufficiently comprehensive

You Know Where the Goals Is?

Mapping the Modern Football Pitch

The modern footballer must know his place. If the forensic analysis of Zonal Marking is to be believed, most of them are mindless chess pieces moved around at will by their manager's instructions. But, while the positions they are allocated have well-established names, the areas of the pitch they occupy are still subject to the eccentricity of the football cliché.

  • The Engine Room
Smack-bang in the middle of the park is the midfield engine room, the domain of the likes of Xavi, Gerrard, Sneijder and Ozil. As the name suggests, everyone within the engine room must possess an engine, or at least be full of running to dictate the game.

  • Going Nowhere
You know the drill - a bumbling winger, in a desperate attempt to track back, fouls an opponent as they loiter (facing the wrong way) in this specific, innocuous part of the pitch. Located near half-way and close to the touchline, the vast majority of free-kicks conceded here will be classified as silly.

  • The Hole
The hole is fast becoming a quaint anachronism in the era of false nines who flit between the lines. A stealthy place to inhabit, the hole confounds opposing defenders who struggle to pick up the deep-lying forward.

  • The Channels
The thinking man's wings, the channels represent the dire straits between penalty area and touchline where full-backs can be given a torrid time - either by fleet-footed (or jet-heeled) wingers or by their swashbuckling opposite numbers.

grey's anatomy of football

Footballers are apparently not built like you and I. From head to toe, their bodies are subject to an entirely different terminology to the average normal human being.

Used figuratively as often as it is literally, the concept of the head in football is conveniently vague. Composed young footballers are said to have an old head on young shoulders, at least until they lose their head, at which point they need an arm around their shoulder. Players who lack genuine pace are able to call upon the yard in their head (pace is quantified simply in yards, on a narrow scale from 0.5-1).

A predatory striker is said to have an eye for goal, which occasionally involves giving the goalkeeper the eyes (having seen the whites of them), despite often having one eye (or half an eye) on an upcoming fixture. Meanwhile, today's referees are required to have eyes in the back of their head

Calling upon the other senses, players can sniff out a chance if their team smells blood (unless they're not given a sniff) but only after the two teams have finished feeling each other out. Hearing is less frequently referenced, but the universal gesture for a footballer not hearing something (a referee's whistle, or a goalkeeper's shout) is unmistakable.

Abou Diaby, a french football player who plays for Arsenal Football club and france national team, is a Muslim too, like us.

He is very concern about Muslim problems all around the world. Recently, he donates a big amount of money for Rohingyas in Myanmar.

and we also know there is other famous football players that are also muslim such as mesut ozil(real madrid), franck ribery(bayern munich),karim benzema(real madrid) and many more. and even javier hernandez(man utd) once said that, even he is not a muslim, one of the people that he admires the most is prophet muhammad s.a.w. subhanallah(hope that allah open his heart to know islam more and finally convert into a muslim one day)

well, what abous us? all this story give awareness to us that even though we're busy with whatever we are doing, or whoever you are, fanatic football fans, a doctor-to-be(inshaAllah), it does not mean we can forget Him(alllah). spend a little of our time everyday for Allah and we will be granted by Him. aaminn
